Current Trends and Open Problems Session: On Sunday, the last session of the conference will be a session on Current Trends and Open Problems. This session is very important for a number of reasons. First, we must make clear and expose the major open problems in our fields and where our fields are headed in this century. Second, to fully fulfill the purpose of this conference, we need to share with each other problems which could benefit from an interdisciplinary approach and identify commonalities and lines of research suggested between the areas of focus of BLAST. Please think ahead of time what problems or lines of research you believe deserve more attention in the next 10-20 years, and be prepared to present them to each other. Thirdly, we need to be able to write a comprehensive report on this session to the NSF - this is important for obtaining continued support for further BLAST conferences.
